Selectable Media Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Selectable Media gathers information from you when you visit the Selectable Media websites (“Sites) or otherwise interact with our platforms or services (“Platforms” or “Services”), why we collect this information, and how we may use this information. [1]

Our Services utilize proprietary technology to enable consumers to unlock digital content and services in exchange for viewing and interacting with brand advertising.  For example, our Platform includes the ability for consumers to engage with advertising provided by Selectable Media or any other third party that may provide advertisements through our system and/or provide information about themselves in order to gain access to content and services that they value.   Our technology may include “cookies” or other technologies currently available or those developed in the future (“Technologies”).

 

Non-Personally Identifiable Information (“Non-PII”)

Selectable Media may collect Non-PII while you are visiting our Sites or when you are exposed to our advertising Services.  This anonymous data includes, but is not limited to, information such as your IP address, web pages and/or advertisements that have been viewed by you, date and time,  number and frequency of pages browsed and your responses to advertisements delivered by us or a third party partner.   This type of information may be collected using different types of Technologies.  You may elect not to allow us to use non-PII by following the Opt-Out procedures set forth below.

Note that since our Services may be served or otherwise interacted with via third party sites or applications, it is your responsibility to read and accept their Terms and Privacy Policy.

Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”)

PII is information that identifies you or can be used to identify, contact, or locate you such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number.  We do not ask for PII other than as outlined below for business purposes.  We don’t collect PII via our corporate Web site, www.SelectableMedia.com unless you choose to provide it to us by providing feedback or otherwise contacting or emailing us.

Cookies and Other Identifiers

A cookie is a small text file recorded on your hard drive that identifies you as a unique user and contains certain information about your particular login session and/or your use of the Service and the Service uses such cookies as described here.

We use cookies and/or other Technologies to, among other things, “remember” you and collect information about how you respond to our services, such as number of times you’ve accessed out Technologies.  We do not use our Technology to collect and store your personally identifiable information, like name or Social Security or credit card numbers and as a result information contained in our cookies or other Technologies act as anonymous IDs used to provide you with more relevant advertising and services.

Disabling Cookies

Most Web browsers are set up to accept cookies. If you prefer not to receive cookies, you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie when you are alerted to its presence.  Or, you can refuse all cookies by turning them off in your browser.   In addition, at any time you can delete cookies from your browser.

How We Use Your Information

Selectable Media may use your non-PII to better target advertisements and other content and services to individuals in an effort to create a more relevant experience for each person.  The non-PII is also used for other reasons, such as to predict responses to advertisements, to help determine which ads perform best and which content is most appropriate for different individuals, to provide aggregate reporting to Clients and assess and improve our Technologies.  We may combine this information with publically available information to further enhance your online advertising experiences.

This information may also be combined with information from other sources, and/or shared with our affiliates and partners for similar use.

We may retain such information and aggregations of such information for as long as we deem necessary.

Opt-Out

If you’d like to opt-out from having Selectable Media collect your Non-PII in connection with the use of our Technology serving ads and/or video walls on our network of web sites, please click here. When you opt out, we will place an opt-out cookie on your computer. The opt-out cookie tells us not to collect your Non-PII to provide digital content or Services or tailor online advertisement campaigns. Please note that if you change your computer, change your Internet browser (e.g. from Internet Explorer to Firefox), or delete all your cookies, you will need to renew your opt-out.

Business Transfers 

As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event, we reserve the right to include any information we have among the assets transferred to the acquiring company.

Children

Selectable Media does not knowingly collect PII from children under the age of 13 via any of our Services or Sites.  Nor do we intentionally create, share, or collect data or segments regarding children under 13 years of age.  If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under the age of 13, please contact us at Info@selectablemedia.com

Third Party Data Collection

This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third party sites, for example, any sites that we may link to.  We suggest contacting those sites directly for information on their privacy, security, and data collection and distribution policies.

Our Clients use our services to enhance their websites, services, advertising, and related offerings.  These sites may place their own cookies on your computer, collect data, or solicit personal information.  For more information about their information practices, please refer to their privacy policies.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data we collect and store.. Our servers are protected by firewalls and are physically located in secure data facilities to further increase security.   Of course, no security system is perfect. While we have taken reasonable measures to safeguard against the unauthorized access to, or alteration of, data we collect and store, we cannot guarantee that it will not be disclosed or accessed inadvertently or through the unauthorized acts of others.

You understand and agree that we may access, preserve, and disclose any information we may have about you and the contents of your account if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access, preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to avoid liability, to comply with legal process, such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order, or to protect our rights and property, or that of our affiliates or the public.  Selectable Media is not required to question or contest the validity of any search warrant, subpoena or other similar governmental request that Selectable Media receives.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a new version of it on this website.  We will provide the effective date as well.  To the extent there is any conflict of terms between this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service found on our Site, the relevant Terms of Service governs.
